Pedro Moreno Cardoso

Pedro Moreno Cardoso has a diverse work experience. Pedro is currently working as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Kinomica and an Informatics Scientist at Evotec. In 2020, they completed an MSc Internship at Queen Mary University of London, where they achieved a 17 times speed improvement by further developing a C++ algorithm. Pedro applied the algorithm to a large public data extracted from PRIDE database. From 2018 to 2020, they worked as a Final Checker at ITH Pharma, where they were responsible for workload organisation by prioritising and delegating tasks, and ensuring the excellent quality of the products. Pedro also contributed to the development of SOP (Standard operating procedures). From 2016 to 2018, they worked as an MPhil Internship at Liston laboratory, where they processed, filtered and analysed Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) data in order to find candidate genes/mutations associated with rare Paediatric Immune Deficiencies (PID). Pedro also worked hands-on to validate the candidate genes found by performing PCR, qPCR and Western Blots.

Pedro Moreno Cardoso has a diverse educational background. Pedro completed a BSc in Genetics and Biotechnology from Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro in 2015, followed by an MPhil in Comparative and Technological Molecular Genetics from the same institution in 2018. In 2019, they earned an MSc in Bioinformatics from Queen Mary University of London. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Parallel and Concurrent Programming with C++ Part 1, Git Essential Training: The Basics, and Advanced Python from LinkedIn in 2020.
