Brett Kessler is the current Director of IT at KIPP Capital Region Public Schools. Prior to their current position, Brett served as IT Manager at Albany Medical Center from September 2019 to November 2021. In this role, they were responsible for the strategic and tactical IT needs of Albany Med’s inpatient, outpatient, and specialty pharmacies, clinical reporting from Albany Med’s electronic health record (EHR) system, delivery of clinical data for business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR), implementation of custom clinical workflows, and the technology supporting Albany Med’s Case Management department.
From December 2015 to September 2019, Brett served as Director of Information Technology at Hometown Health Centers. In this role, they aligned technology strategy with organizational priorities, managed budget and staff, including insourcing operations, implemented a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and a telehealth platform, redesigned the phone system and call center.
Brett began their career in IT management as Manager of Technical Services at AAA Hudson Valley in May 2008. Brett held this position until July 2015 when they became IT Manager at Bellevue Woman's Hospital. Brett remained in this role until July 2007 when they transitioned to their current position at KIPP Capital Region Public Schools.
Brett Kessler has a BS in Computer Information Sciences from The Sage Colleges-Sage College of Albany. Brett also has a degree in Computer Science from Binghamton University and another in Computer Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Brett also went to South Shore High School.
Brett Kessler reports to Johanna Martin, Associate Chief Operating Officer. They work with and Najjemba Dennis - Senior Director of Human Resources.
