Essence Cooper is a dedicated educator with experience in special education, literacy, and mathematics at KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools since July 2022. Prior to this role, Essence served as a Family Engagement Coordinator at Future Forward Literacy, focusing on enhancing communication between families and educational staff. At Syracuse City School District, Essence worked as a Program Aide, implementing family engagement initiatives and participating in student intervention strategies. Previous experience includes serving as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor at Onondaga County Health Department and assisting in educational programming at the Community Folk Art Center. Essence holds a Master of Teaching in General and Special Education from Relay Graduate School of Education and has completed advanced degrees in Cultural Foundations of Education and Psychology/African American Studies from Syracuse University.
