Gloria Dorame has a diverse range of work experience. Gloria started their career as a Community Outreach Coordinator, where they assisted and supported a team of community advocates in addressing the issue of homelessness and coordinating with local distribution centers to provide for those in need. Gloria then worked as an Optometric Assistant at Vision Care Clinic, handling patient needs, tracking medical records, and communicating with insurance companies.
After that, Gloria served as a Research Assistant at the Economic Research Center, where they conducted research tasks. Gloria then joined the Chicago Policy Review as a Digital Content Assistant, responsible for designing graphics and creating content around policy issues. Gloria also worked at Chicago Public Schools as an Outreach Coordinator, calling parents/guardians of students with disabilities to offer remedies for delayed or denied services.
More recently, Gloria worked at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, LLC. (CARD) as a Behavioral Health Technician, providing support to individuals with autism. Currently, they are employed as an English Language Arts Teacher and Mathematics Teacher at KIPP Public Schools Northern California. In these roles, they create an engaging learning environment, develops lesson plans aligned with national standards, and assesses student progress to provide targeted support.
Gloria Dorame obtained their Associate of Arts - AA degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities from De Anza College. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Sociology at the University of California, Davis.
