Jessica Sorrels has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jessica began their career as an Art Teacher and Paraprofessional at Tippecanoe School Corporation, where they created and implemented art lesson plans for students and also worked with students with special needs. Jessica then worked as an Assistant Kindergarten Teacher at The Goddard School.
Jessica went on to work at Club Getaway, where they served as an Assistant Director, overseeing group visits and coordinating logistics. Jessica also acted as the Office Manager, Girl Scout Coordinator, and Activities Department Manager, handling reservations, payments, and promotional materials.
At The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, Jessica worked as the Group Services Coordinator, responsible for organizing the arrivals, lunches, and departures of groups visiting the museum. Jessica also served as an Assistant Concierge, providing visitors and staff with amenities and information about the museum and surrounding attractions.
Jessica gained experience in the education field as a Home and Hospital Teacher and Substitute Teacher at Benicia Unified School District. In these roles, they provided individual instruction to students unable to attend school due to injury or illness, as well as substitute teaching across various grade levels and subjects.
Jessica then took on the role of Director at Steve & Kate's Camp, where they autonomously managed and implemented the program, handling responsibilities such as hiring, budgeting, marketing, and website content management.
Prior to their current position, Jessica worked at Joffe Emergency Services as a Part-time Independent Contractor and later as a Senior Emergency Preparedness Consultant. In these roles, they provided operational and logistics support, managed the CEO's calendar and travel arrangements, developed training programs, facilitated card processing, and managed client relationships.
Currently, Jessica is a Regional Operations Manager for Health and Safety at KIPP Public Schools Northern California. Their responsibilities in this role are not specified.
Jessica Sorrels received their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from Purdue University, where they studied from 1997 to 2003. Prior to that, they attended Pike High School from 1993 to 1997. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained various certifications in fields such as Excel, Gmail, administrative support, first aid, CPR, and teaching. Some of the certifications they hold include Excel Essential Training from LinkedIn, Zero Waste Associate Certification Program from Zero Waste USA, and a Preliminary Single Subject Teaching Credential in Art from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Their most recent certification is as a First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor, which they obtained in February 2020 from EMS Safety Services.
