Jessica Sorrels has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jessica began their career as an Art Teacher and Paraprofessional at Tippecanoe School Corporation, where they created and implemented art lesson plans for students and also worked with students with special needs. Jessica then worked as an Assistant Kindergarten Teacher at The Goddard School.

Jessica Sorrels received their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from Purdue University, where they studied from 1997 to 2003. Prior to that, they attended Pike High School from 1993 to 1997.
