Sue Jean Hong has extensive experience in the field of education. Sue Jean is currently serving as the Director of Talent and Leadership Development at the KIPP Foundation since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology starting from January 2019.

Sue Jean has a long history of working with Green Dot Public Schools California. Sue Jean held various roles, including Principal from June 2012 to June 2021, US History Teacher from August 2011 to June 2012, Principal from March 2009 to July 2011, and Principal in Residence from July 2008 to March 2009. Before joining Green Dot, they worked as a History Teacher from 2004 to 2008.

Sue Jean started their career as a Site Coordinator at People to People Ambassador Programs in 2002, where they worked until 2004.

Sue Jean Hong holds a Personal and Executive Coaching Certificate from The CaPP Institute, obtained in 2022. Sue Jean earned a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Southern California, completing their studies between 2014 and 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Reading and Writing from the University of Southern California between 2006 and 2008. Sue also holds a Teaching Credential in Single Subject Social Sciences, which they acquired from UC Irvine in 2004. Sue Jean'seducational journey began with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History from UC Irvine, which they completed in 2002.
