Catherine Saravia

Catherine Saravia has a diverse work experience spanning over several years.

Catherine began their career in 1998 as an Office Assistant at Figueroa Street Elementary School. Catherine worked in this role until 2005.

In 2007, Catherine became an Elementary School Teacher at Los Angeles Unified School District. Catherine taught various subjects and implemented different classroom management strategies. Their tenure in this role lasted until 2010.

During their time as a teacher, Catherine also took on various counseling roles. In 2009, they worked as an Elementary School Counseling Intern at Loren Miller Elementary School, where they conducted individual, group, and classroom guidance sessions under supervision.

Catherine then became a Pupil Service and Attendance Counseling Intern at Foshay Learning Center in the same year. Their responsibilities included attendance and adjustment counseling, home visitations, and monitoring of truant students.

In 2010, Catherine served as a High School Guidance Counseling Intern at Prairie Vista Middle School. Catherine conducted individual, group, and classroom guidance sessions, utilizing counseling strategies and techniques.

Catherine also worked as a Marriage and Family Trainee at PUC Schools during the same year. Catherine conducted therapy sessions, developed treatment plans, and monitored client progress.

From 2013 to 2015, Catherine worked as a First Grade Teacher at Equitas Academy Charter Schools. Their responsibilities included teaching various subjects, creating assessments and lesson plans, and adapting instruction to meet students' needs.

Since 2015, Catherine has been employed at KIPP SoCal Public Schools. Initially, they worked as a Math Interventionist, and later transitioned to a 5th Grade Teacher role.

Throughout their various roles, Catherine has demonstrated a strong commitment to education and counseling, adapting their skills to meet the needs of diverse students and clients.

Catherine Saravia earned an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from West Los Angeles College, where they studied from 2001 to 2003. Catherine then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies, with an option in Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, at California State University, Los Angeles, from 2004 to 2006. Following that, Catherine went on to obtain a Master of Arts degree in Counseling, with a field of study in Marriage and Family Counseling, from California State University, Los Angeles, where they studied from 2008 to 2011.
