Stephanie Salazar

Communications Manager at KIPP SoCal Public Schools

Stephanie Salazar has a diverse work experience in the field of communications. In 2015, they started as a Communications Student Assistant at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, where they assisted with content production and communication support. Stephanie also launched the first newsletter for the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences.

After that, they joined Associated Students Inc. at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2016 as a Writer/Editor and was responsible for writing copy for ASI publications and social media, as well as editing written communication for errors. Stephanie also maintained and tracked various social media accounts.

In 2018, Stephanie worked as a Brand Ambassador for Yelp, where they supported the San Gabriel Valley Community Manager with on-site promotions and event preparations. Stephanie also worked as a Creative Copywriter at NOMAD DV, developing content strategies and producing on-brand copy for various marketing assets.

Stephanie then took on roles at OC Forum and Communications LAB in 2019. At OC Forum, they served as a Project Manager, leading the vision and implementation of a year-round strategic plan and managing high-quality events for diverse audiences. At Communications LAB, they worked as both an Account Coordinator and an Account Executive, handling client accounts and producing engaging content.

In 2020, Stephanie joined the Los Angeles Unified School District as a Communications Coordinator and later became a Communications Consultant, where they developed and implemented strategic communications efforts and managed various communication platforms for LAUSD Board Member Tanya Ortiz Franklin.

Most recently, Stephanie worked at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona as a Communications Specialist for the College of Letters, Arts, & Social Sciences and at KIPP SoCal Public Schools as a Communications Manager.

Stephanie Salazar obtained a Master's Degree in English Language and Literature from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Public Relations at California State University, Fullerton.
