Ethnic Studies Teacher at KIPP SoCal Public Schools

Trent N. has a diverse work experience that spans various educational institutions and organizations. Trent is currently working as an Ethnic Studies Teacher at KIPP SoCal Public Schools since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Long Term Substitute Teacher at Swing Education from December 2022 to March 2023. Trent also had multiple roles at Aspire Public Schools, including Humanities Teacher (Long-term Sub) from March 2022 to March 2023, Math Teacher (Long-term Sub) from August 2022 to December 2022, and Humanities Instructional Assistant in February 2022. Trent N. was also a Lead Instructor at Camp Galileo from June 2022 to August 2022.

In addition to their teaching roles, Trent N. has a background in mentorship and community engagement. Trent worked as a Student Peer Counselor & Mentor at the UCLA Vice Provost Initiative for Pre-College Scholars (VIPS) Program from September 2018 to June 2020. In this role, they mentored 9th-grade Black males and facilitated workshops on research regarding young men of color. Trent N. also worked at the UCLA Strategic Partnership and Community Engagement Office as a Bruin Connector from September 2018 to June 2020, where they led campus tours and admission presentations to encourage college enrollment among middle and high school students.

Outside of the education field, Trent N. gained experience as a Project Intern at WME (William Morris Endeavor) from September 2019 to December 2019. Trent also worked as a Customer Sales Representative at the Associated Students of the University of California, where they provided product knowledge and communication skills in a computer store setting from August 2017 to June 2018.

Additionally, Trent N. has served in various committees at UCLA. Trent was a Committee Member on the UCLA Academic Senate - Council on Planning and Budget from October 2017 to May 2018, where they made recommendations on resource allocation and academic priorities. Trent also served as the Secretary of Appointments in the Academic Affairs Commission at UCLA from September 2017 to May 2018, overseeing undergraduate student appointments that sat on the UCLA Academic Senate Board.

Trent N. attended Alliance Cindy and Bill Simon Technology Academy High School from 2012 to 2016. During this time, they did not obtain a degree or specialize in a particular field of study.

After completing high school, Trent N. pursued higher education at UCLA from 2016 to 2020. Trent earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science & African American Studies.

Additionally, Trent N. obtained a certification in Digital Marketing from Google's Digital Garage in November 2021.
