Jim Smith is currently the VP & General Manager at Kirby Risk Corporation. Prior to this, they were the Plant Manager at Kirby Risk Service Center from February 2005 to February 2018. Jim was also previously the Business Unit Manager at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company from April 1986 to February 1993. During their time at McDonnell Douglas, they led over 200 union employees as Business Unit Manager of interior installations of MD-80 aircraft and over 325 union employees as Business Unit Manager of upper fuselage assemblies of MD-80 aircraft. Additionally, they served as the Manufacturing Methods Engineer where they analyzed data and ensured compliance with C-17 MIL-SPEC standards. Jim was also the liaison between Industrial Engineering organization and Planning organization.

Jim Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School.

They are on a team with Stephanie LaOrange - VP, Finance & Business Administration, Doug Gutridge - VP, Human Resources, and Doug Mansfield - President of Manufacturing. Their manager is Jim Risk, President & CEO.
