Valentina Sala

Valentina Sala has extensive work experience in the field of scientific affairs and drug development. Valentina worked at Kither Biotech from 2019, starting as Head of Scientific Affairs, where they coordinated and managed the non-clinical development of a new therapy for Cystic Fibrosis. Valentina was responsible for various activities including relationships with institutions, consultants, and CROs, revision of study protocols and reports, study progress monitoring, budget planning, and team supervision.

Before joining Kither Biotech, Valentina worked at Università degli Studi di Torino from 2008. Valentina served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from 2019 to 2021, where they conducted research and supervised laboratory training for undergraduate students. Valentina also worked as a Student's Tutor, assisting students in their research projects. Additionally, Valentina served as a Professor Assistant in Biochemistry from 2010 to 2015, in which they prepared teaching materials and participated in exam evaluations.

Valentina also has experience at A.O.U. San Giovanni Battista, where they worked as a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow from 2017 to 2019. During this time, they conducted research in their field of expertise.

Furthermore, Valentina worked at the University of Turin from 2012, starting as a Postdoctoral Researcher. Their responsibilities included budget design and management, laboratory management, and research activities. Valentina also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow, conducting major projects related to cardiac disease and cardiac cachexia. Additionally, they contributed to an EU research project on the safety of magnetic fields generated by electric cars.

Valentina Sala began their education in 1999 at liceo scientifico ettore majorana, where they obtained a Diploma di Maturità Scientifica in Linguistics in 2003. In the same year, they also earned a Certificate in English Council of Europe (FCE) Level B2, grade A from Cambridge ESOL. Moving on, from 2003 to 2006, they attended Università di Torino and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biotechnology. In 2007 and 2008, Valentina pursued their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Molecular Biotechnology at Università degli Studi di Torino. Finally, they completed their education at the University of Turin, where they obtained a PhD in Molecular Medicine (Biochemistry and Cellular Biotechnology) from 2009 to 2012. In addition to their academic achievements, Valentina Sala also obtained a Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF) certification in 2001 from France's International Centre for French Studies and a Basic Life Support and Defibrillator Operator (BLS-D) certification in May 2011 from IRC-COM.
