Andreas Wendl

For his PhD thesis, Andreas investigated magnetic and caloric properties of transverse-field Ising magnets near quantum phase transitions – for example, he developed a specific heat setup that operates at millikelvin temperatures and withstands the strong torque of the sample in a magnetic field. At kiutra he is working on cryostat development improving thermal, vibrational and vacuum characteristics. As a seasoned experimentalist, he supports first assembly and testing of complex cryogenic systems.
