Eli Cherner

Eli Cherner serves as the Director of Kiva US since May 2019, leading efforts to improve access to capital for financially excluded individuals. Previous roles include Senior Manager and Manager of Kiva US Credit Operations, and Operations Manager at the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, a venture philanthropy firm. Eli has also contributed as a Visiting Fellow at Education Pioneers and Partnership Marketing Manager at DonorsChoose.org, where a national partnership marketing strategy was significantly scaled. Earlier teaching experience includes founding a 10th Grade Math Teacher position at DSST Public Schools and serving as a Teach for America corps member. Other roles include Research Assistant at Amnesty International USA and Trip Leader for Adventures Cross-Country. Eli holds a B.A. in International Political Economy from Colorado College and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction and Urban Leadership from the University of Colorado Denver, among other educational credentials.
