Rachel Lewis has a strong background in social business and investment management. Rachel started their career as a Kiva Fellow, where they improved the connection between lenders and borrowers through various mediums. Later, at Yunus Social Business, they volunteered as a Social Business Consultant, identifying and supporting exceptional social business entrepreneurs. Rachel then became the Director of Nuru Kenya Social Enterprises, where they managed the profitability and scalability of different social businesses. Currently, at Kiva, they hold the position of Investment Director for Africa and is responsible for managing a portfolio of investments across various sectors. Prior to their work in social business, Rachel worked at Saturna Capital Corporation, where they held multiple roles including Manager of Employer Client Services and Investor Services Representative.
Rachel Lewis received their Bachelor's degree in Political Science - International Relations from Western Washington University in 2008. Rachel then went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from the same university from 2010 to 2012. In addition, Rachel obtained two certifications, the Series 63 and Series 7, from FINRA in 2009.
