Maru Barrios

Maru Barrios has extensive work experience in various roles related to human resources, development, and consulting. Maru has held the position of Chief People Officer at several companies, including Kivi | Your brand out there, Rocket Lab | Mobile App Growth, and Beehappy Human Resources. At Beehappy, they focused on empowering individuals through theater and games, and achieved significant impact in areas such as work climate, organizational culture, leadership, department integration, customer service, and employee retention. Prior to their roles as Chief People Officer, Maru worked as a Consultant at B-Vortex Desarrollo Humano and as a Cantante at TV Azteca. Maru also served as an Actress and Personal Development Consultant at TYCOON GOU PRODUCCIONES and taught Developmental Human courses as a Professor at Universidad Tecmilenio. Maru Barrios has a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Tecnológico de Monterrey, obtained in the years 1999-2003. Maru then pursued a Master's degree in Human Resources Development from Universidad Iberoamericana, Ciudad de México, completed between 2009 and 2011. Currently, Maru is enrolled in the University of Southern California, where they are pursuing a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Organizational Change and Leadership, with an expected completion date between 2020 and 2022. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications throughout their career, including one in Social-Behavioral Human Subjects from CITI Program, a leading organizations and change certification from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and others.
