Songnian Rong

Songnian Rong is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in the semiconductor industry. Currently serving as VP of Engineering at KLA since March 2024, Songnian previously held the same title at Ultima Genomics from January 2021 to March 2024. Prior to this, Songnian spent over two decades at KLA, starting as a Senior Director of Engineering leading the BBP Division and later overseeing the Global SW & Algorithm Group. Songnian's expertise includes managing high-performance computing projects, defect detection algorithms, and wafer inspection systems, complemented by a strong educational background from Tsinghua University and the University of California, Riverside.
