Mengru Liang

Creative Director at Klar

Mengru Liang has worked as an Art Director at Klar since 2021. From 2017 to 2021, they worked as a Design & Art Direction, working closely with internal teams at various companies, ranging from agency to start-ups to corporations. Her projects included branding, logo creation, moodboards, advertising campaigns, editorial design, user interface (UI/UX), print, event collateral, motion graphics, photography and web design. In 2020, they were a Senior Design & Creative Strategist at FlexIt Fitness and a Co-Founder & Design Lead at Synch Fertility. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Senior Designer at Lorem Labs and a Freelance Designer at STYLEBOP.com. From 2016 to 2018, they were a Lead Graphic Designer at Lágh Studio, Inc., managing several diverse clients, from international corporations to startups, with projects ranging from corporate rebranding, marketing collateral and presentation decks to digital user experiences, web design and advertising campaigns. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Graphic Designer at John Hardy, working under a Senior Art Director as the primary in-house designer to ideate and execute all creative needs of the marketing team. In 2015, they were a Brand Intern at Kinfolk. From 2014 to 2015, they were a Marketing and Media Manager at Leonardo/ISAST, initiating the festival's online presence and overall awareness with digital promotion, social media and print collateral, including the re-branding of the logo and event signage for the 2nd and 3rd LAST Festivals.

Mengru Liang received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Fashion/Apparel Design from Parsons School of Design - The New School between 2010 and 2014. In 2013, they studied Fashion/Apparel Design at Central Saint Martins, University of The Arts London. In 2014, they took a course in Graphic Design at UC Berkeley Extension. Mengru is currently enrolled in Executive Leadership Training at ESMT Berlin and is expected to complete the program in 2022.
