Joaquín Calderón

Joaquin Calderon has an extensive work experience in the field of compliance and banking. Joaquin is currently the Chief Compliance Officer at Klarna, a position they have held since September 2022. Prior to their current role, Joaquin worked at HSBC as the Managing Director and Deputy Head of Global Banking Regulatory Compliance from October 2018 to August 2022. Before that, they served as the Head of Country Compliance for Europe & Middle East at Barclays Investment Bank from October 2009 to September 2018. Joaquin started their career at Merrill Lynch in 1999, where they held the position of Director and Head of Legal and Compliance for Spain and Portugal. Joaquin was a member of the Executive Management and Operating Committees and also served as the Director and Secretary of the Board of Merrill Lynch Capital Markets España, S.A., S. Joaquin began their professional journey in 1998 as a Trainee in Asset Management at J.P. Morgan.

Joaquin Calderon obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where they attended from 1995 to 2000. Joaquin furthered their education by completing an MBA program at INSEAD in 2008.
