Marcel Terblanche

Marcel Terblanche began their work experience in 2013 as a Software Engineer at WRP Engineers, where they focused on remote data collection, data analysis, and reporting software. Marcel specialized in developing web-based applications, mobile applications, and business solutions using technologies such as PHP, JavaScript, and SQL.

In 2017, Terblanche joined Formula D interactive as a Software Engineer and UX Designer. During this time, they primarily worked with Unity 3D and C# to develop interactive 3D experiences for various platforms. Marcel also designed and implemented web-based applications for remote data collection and analysis using Node.

Terblanche then worked as a Software Engineer contractor at Coronation Fund Managers through Entelect in 2017 and 2018.

In 2018, Terblanche became the Chief Technology Officer at WumDrop, where they managed a team of software engineers and ensured the highest quality software across all systems. Marcel was responsible for project delivery processes, alignment between the tech team and stakeholders, and driving best practices and engineering principles.

In 2021, Terblanche joined Klarna as a Senior Software Engineer and later became an Engineering Manager in 2022.

Marcel Terblanche has a strong educational background in the field of Computer Science. Marcel attended Fish Hoek High School from 2002 to 2007, where they completed their High School degree. Marcel then pursued their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Environmental and Geographical Science at the University of Cape Town from 2010 to 2012. Continuing their studies at the same institution, Marcel completed an Honour's Degree in Computer Science in 2013. Marcel further advanced their knowledge by obtaining a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town, which they completed from 2015 to 2016.
