Michail Xirouchakis has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Michail started their professional career at Telia Carrier in 2011, where they worked in technical customer support for voice and mobile services, troubleshooting faults and communicating with customers. Michail then transitioned to the data and infrastructure team, where they performed troubleshooting tasks related to BGP sessions, transmission errors, and QoS for carrier Ethernet. In 2015, they became an IP Configuration specialist before taking on the role of technical specialist for cross-border VPN solutions in 2016. At Telia Carrier, they gained expertise in MPLS VPN, DMVPN, and Metro Ethernet.
In 2017, Michail joined RISE SICS for their master's thesis project. After completing their thesis, they moved to Klarna in 2018. At Klarna, Michail started as a senior operations engineer, assisting in the migration of legacy applications to the AWS cloud. In 2020, they became a senior cloud engineer, where they designed, built, and troubleshooted serverless applications. Currently, Michail holds the position of engineering manager at Klarna, utilizing their experience and skills in managing the engineering team.
Michail Xirouchakis completed their education in a chronological order. From 2001 to 2009, they attended the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) and earned a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Communication Systems at KTH Royal Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2019. In addition to their formal education, Michail also obtained certifications in the field of networking, including the CCNP Routing & Switching certification from Cisco in July 2014 and the CCNA Routing & Switching certification from Cisco in April 2013.
