Stephen Hughes has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Stephen started their career as an Electronic Engineer Apprentice at Barr and Stroud, where they received training in various departments including Production Test, Digital and Analog Design, Equipment/PCB fault finding, Production Build, and Quality Control.
After completing their apprenticeship, Hughes worked as an Electronic Design Engineer at Ferantti, where they designed Mil Standard 1553B Serial Bus Adaptors and provided technical support for new and existing products. Stephen was also responsible for acceptance testing of marine digital depth sensors.
Hughes then joined The European Space Agency as an Electronic Design/Development Engineer, where they conducted a Test Campaign to assess Fiber Optic Communication Technology for NASA's Space Station. Stephen also designed a fully automated Fiber Optic Test Bed.
Following this, they worked at Kodak as a Test Systems Engineer, where they set up a compact disk manufacturing facility and developed CD-R Optical Test Equipment. Stephen also proactively monitored the manufacturing process to identify gaps and implement improvements.
