Eugene Astashevich

Eugene Astashevich has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of software engineering. Eugene currently holds the position of Senior Backend Engineer at the company Klima, starting in June 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Scentbird as a Senior Java Software Engineer from August 2018 to March 2021. In this role, they were involved in the development of the Scentbird website backend, focusing on business features, bug fixing, testing, documentation, and customer support. Eugene also participated in the migration to a new payment system during their tenure.

Before joining Scentbird, Eugene worked at PST Labs as a Senior Java Software Engineer from April 2017 to July 2018, where they were responsible for developing the backend part of the DMS Hub asset management system. Eugene'srole included the development of an admin tool, REST API, and CLI tool, using Spring Boot and MongoDB as the storage system.

Prior to PST Labs, Eugene worked at Helmes Bel as a Senior Java Software Engineer from September 2016 to April 2017. During this time, they were involved in the development and support of Audatex insurance solutions, specifically focusing on the implementation of a claim registration platform using the Apache Click framework.

Eugene'searliest work experience was at EPAM Systems, where they held the position of Senior Java Software Engineer from October 2014 to August 2016. Eugene was responsible for leading the development of new features in the Loyalty program of IHG, including task estimation, assignment, code reviews, and technical decision-making. Prior to this role, they worked as a Java Software Engineer at EPAM Systems from June 2012 to October 2014.

Eugene Astashevich completed their education in Belarus, attending Belarusian State University from 2008 to 2013. During this time, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Informatics. Eugene then continued their studies at the same university from 2013 to 2014, obtaining a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics and Informatics.
