Roberto Villaquiran has over 30 years of experience in various leadership positions in the packaging industry. Roberto served as the CEO of Klöckner Pentaplast since 2023 and was previously the CEO of CANPACK Group from 2019 to 2022. Before that, they held the CEO position at Logoplaste from 2017 to 2019. Roberto also had an extensive career at Smurfit Kappa, where they served as the CEO Europe from 2015 to 2017, with overall responsibility for the European Paper and Corrugated divisions. Roberto held various senior management roles within the company, including CEO of European Packaging Division and Vice President of Pan European Sales.

Roberto Villaquiran completed their education with a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1983. Roberto then pursued a Master's degree in Finance, specializing in General Finance, from the same institute, completing it in 1985. Later in 2002, Roberto attended the London Business School for a brief period to pursue an Executive MBA.
