Martin Christof-Mertens has a diverse work experience, starting in 2010 as a Junior Software Engineer at Fraunhofer IGD. In 2014, they co-founded Stadtgestöber UG, a local commerce startup in Germany. Martin then moved on to SMACC in 2015, where they served as a Technical Product Manager and helped build the software development process. In 2018, they joined kloeckner.i GmbH as a Product Manager, working on a B2B application and later leading the product team for Klöckner Assistant, an AI-powered program. Martin is currently the Head of Product, responsible for the global roadmap and leading a team towards transforming Kloeckner into a digital platform company.

Martin Christof-Mertens has a diverse education history. In 2010, they began their studies at the University of Rostock, where they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science in Wirtschaftsinformatik. Martin completed this degree in 2012. Following that, Martin pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the same university and graduated in 2015.

In 2014, Martin received a scholarship, the EXIST-Gründerstipendium, at the Universität Rostock, where they studied entrepreneurship for a year. Subsequently, from 2015 to 2017, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Business Information Systems at the University of Potsdam.

After completing their formal education, Martin continued to enhance their skills and knowledge through various certifications. In 2018, they obtained the Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification from the Scrum Alliance. In 2019, they earned certifications in Amazon AWS Machine Learning: Building Intelligent Business Solutions from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform Big Data and Machine Learning from Google. In 2020, Martin obtained the Google Cloud Platform Machine Learning for Business Professionals certification from Google.

Recently, Martin Christof-Mertens pursued further education at ESMT Berlin. In 2021, they completed the Leadership for Young Leaders program, which is part of a Postgraduate Diploma in Management. In 2022, they participated in the Leading People and Teams program, focusing on organizational leadership.
