Gladys Akom Ankobrey is a dedicated academic and researcher with extensive experience in social work, urban education, and migration studies. Currently serving as a Tutor at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Gladys teaches Social Agenda while also contributing as a Program Coordinator and Researcher at the Centre of Expertise Urban Education, focusing on 'Funds of Knowledge' and inclusive learning. Gladys has held various roles, including Postdoctoral Researcher and Tutor at Maastricht University, where research involved transnational migration networks and ethnography. De Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen is forum, geweten en stem van de Nederlandse wetenschap. Vanuit een onafhankelijke positie bewaakt zij de kwaliteit en de belangen van de wetenschap en adviseert zij de regering.
