Johannes C. Scholtes

Johannes (Jan) C. Scholtes is an Extraordinary Professor of Text Mining at Maastricht University, where engagement in artificial intelligence research is prominent since April 2008. As a Senior Research Fellow at KNAW's SIKS and a current Board Member at IPRally, Scholtes focuses on advancements in text mining and the patent landscape. Previous roles include Chief Data Scientist at IPRO, Fellow at Leiden University, and leadership positions at ZyLAB and Minddistrict, with significant contributions to eDiscovery, information governance, and legal technology education. Scholtes holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Delft University of Technology and a PhD in Computational Linguistics from the University of Amsterdam.
