Ron M.A. Heeren is a distinguished academic and researcher with extensive experience in mass spectrometry and molecular imaging. Currently, Heeren serves as President of The International Mass Spectrometry Foundation and as a Hans Fisher Senior Fellow at the Technical University of Munich, while also holding a position as University Professor of Molecular Imaging at Maastricht University, where Heeren directs the Maastricht Multimodal Molecular Imaging Institute (M4I). Heeren has contributed to the field through various roles, including member of the KNAW and co-founder of Omics2Image. Previous leadership roles include Vice President of the International Mass Spectrometry Foundation and Research Groupleader at FOM-AMOLF. Heeren earned a PhD in Physics from the University of Amsterdam and an Ing degree in Physics from De Haagse Hogeschool.
