Jim Wilke is an independent business owner and audio producer with extensive experience in the radio industry, including their tenure at Hatchcover Productions since January 1983. As the producer and host of Jazz Northwest on KNKX, Wilke has been dedicated to showcasing regional jazz artists since 1984. Jim originated and hosted Jazz After Hours on Public Radio International from 1984 to 2014, a program that continues to air overnight on weekends. Wilke's career also includes various roles in multiple radio broadcast organizations from 1957 to 2001, producing and managing talent, as well as serving as producer and host at KUOW during its jazz programming era. Their background in radio was further solidified by their role as Program Director at Classical KING-FM from 1961 to 1977. Wilke holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech with a focus on Radio-TV-Film from the University of Iowa.
