Alex Griffis

VP, Product at Knock

Alex Griffis is the current VP of Product at Knock. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Vice President of Product at Unanet from December 2019 to April 2022. In this role, they were responsible for leading all product design efforts and playing a major role in product strategy. Alex was also instrumental in Unanet's acquisition by Accruent/Fortive.

Alex has always been driven by a desire to create impactful change. This was evident in their work at Unanet, where they pushed the boundaries of design to create greater engagement between customers and product. Alex is known for their inquisitive nature, always asking "why" in order to get to the heart of the matter.

One of Alex's favorite stories from their time at Unanet is of inspiring a real estate executive at a Fortune 500 company to take a design exercise home and sketch out ideas with markers. The executive then came back the next day to review the sketches with Alex. This session led to functional requirements being created for a new mobile app - proving the power of design thinking in driving real change.

As Senior Vice President of Product, Alex was also responsible for product strategy. When the company had to pivot due to unforeseen circumstances, they took charge and led the effort to redefine the MVP requirements, create new timelines, and work with different teams to adjust resources. This resulted in the project getting back on track with buy-in from the customer - something that would not have been possible without Alex's leadership.

Looking ahead, Alex took the lead in defining the long-term vision for Unanet's product. Through research, they identified areas where new features could be introduced to the roadmap for product growth. Thanks to their innovative thinking and dedication to their work, Unanet enjoyed multiple record-setting deals, established dominance in their market, and grew to over 8 million users during their time as Director of UX.

Their manager is Tom Petry, CPO & Co-Founder.
