Knowles Teacher Initiative
Melissa Kovar is an experienced physics educator currently teaching at Denver North High School since August 2022, while also serving as a Knowles Teaching Fellow since April 2019. Previous positions include Lead Physics Teacher at Burton Academic High School and Credential Teacher Tutoring Specialist at YMCA of San Francisco. Melissa has a diverse background that includes roles such as Science Lead Instructor at Galileo Learning and Student Teacher at Colegio Menor San Francisco de Quito. An undergraduate research assistant at Boston University, Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics and Science Education and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Colorado Boulder.
