Knox County Homeless Coalition
Shannon Shimer is currently the Assistant Director of Social Services at Knox County Homeless Coalition. Prior to this, Shannon worked as a Elementary School Counselor at RSU 71 and also as a School Counselor at Clarksville Montgomery County School System. Shannon has experience in providing comprehensive case management services, counseling students, and organizing youth programs. Shannon holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in School Counseling from Liberty University.
Knox County Homeless Coalition
Established in 2014, our mission is to break cycles of poverty and homelessness, empowering our clients to realize and maintain productive, self-reliant and independent lives. Our services are delivered with respect, dignity and genuine caring, fulfilling our promise of home, help, and hope. Knox County Homeless Coalition’s comprehensive programming includes the Hospitality House Family Shelter; The Landing Place youth program; comprehensive case management; aftercare to support clients recently placed into housing; transportation services; a Welcome Center, which handles intakes and emergency walk-ins, offering laundry and shower facilities; and a complete Donation Center that provides food, clothing, and household goods to those in need.
