Ron Francis

Finance Director at Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB)

Ron Francis gained his first work experience within KPMG as an assistant accountant and management consultant. Between 1996 and 2008 he completed various studies at the Nyenrode Business University in the field of accountancy, controlling and management. He also completed a so-called executive master's degree in finance and control, which he graduated cum laude.

Since 2001 Ron Francis has worked at the KNVB as controller, financial manager and staff services manager. In 2007 Ron Francis set up KNVB Expertise. The knowledge center is a collaboration between the Eredivisie, Eerste Divisie, FBO and the KNVB. Scientific research is carried out within this center and clubs are advised with regard to operational management.

In 2008 and 2009 Ron Francis was part of the UEFA working group that, under the leadership of UEFA chairman Platini, developed rules for Financial Fair Play in European professional football. On July 1, 2010, Ron Francis has joined the board in the position of financial director for professional football. He is also chairman of the board of the University Center for Sports Medicine (UCS).

Ron Francis lives with his wife and two children in Friesland, where he is also active in local politics. Ron himself played soccer on a recreational level at DCS and SDZZ in Zevenaar.
