Celia Friedman Cowan

Celia Friedman Cowan has a comprehensive work experience in the veterinary field. Celia currently serves as the Veterinary Medical Director at Koala Health from May 2021. Prior to this role, they worked as an Associate Veterinarian at Parkway Veterinary Hospital starting from June 2018. Celia also held a similar position at Banfield Pet Hospital from June 2016 to April 2018. Celia has gained valuable experience through various veterinary roles, including being a Summer Research Scholar at the University of Missouri in 2013, a Veterinary Technician Assistant at Northside Animal Hospital from May 2011 to July 2012, and an intern at Pembroke Animal Hospital from September 2011 to May 2012. Celia also gained additional experience as a Veterinary Student/Technician at World Vets in March 2012, a Volunteer at Deerfield Veterinary Clinic in July 2011, and a Teaching Assistant for Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy at Colby College from February 2011 to May 2011. Celia began their career as an unpaid intern at Kennebec Veterinary Services, Inc from September 2010 to December 2010, where they observed and assisted in various procedures and gained experience with a variety of animals.

Celia Friedman Cowan obtained their Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Colby College between 2007 and 2011. In 2010, they attended the University of New Hampshire for a brief period to study Biochemistry. Celia completed their high school education at Manchester Central High School, where they received a diploma in 2007.
