Carol Austerman is the Founder and CEO of The Austerman Collective, established in May 2025, which focuses on supporting Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and mission-driven organizations in navigating complexity, transition, and growth. With nearly two decades of leadership experience in the FQHC sector, including roles as CEO and CFO of a successful rural clinic, Carol partners with leadership teams on strategy, compliance, board development, and sustainable financial operations. Additionally, Carol serves as a CEO Consultant for Kodiak Community Health Center and has held various roles, including Chief Executive Officer, Compliance & Regulatory Director, and Board Member during time spent at Kodiak Community Health Center. Prior experience includes business ownership with Austerman Davis Associates, roles at Alutiiq Heritage Foundation, the State of Alaska's Department of Environmental Conservation, and Sprint PCS. Carol holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Political Science from the University of Alaska Anchorage.

As a federally qualified health center, we exist to provide compassionate and comprehensive primary care to the entire Kodiak community. Kodiak Community Health Center began operations in January 2004 and has grown rapidly in response to the high level of community need and positive response the exceptional care we provide our patients. We offer healthcare services to everyone in our community – insured, uninsured and underinsured. Our comprehensive, state-of-the-art health center is staffed with six MD's and Physician Assistants as well as a full staff of experienced and caring Medical Assistants. We are open seven days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays, with available appointments in the evenings and same day appointments for sick visits. Easy access and convenience are the foundation of our health center - we are located adjacent to the hospital which ensures that most services for our patients can be completed the same day. We also provide referral arrangements such as mental health treatment and counseling, substance abuse service, specialty care, and hospitalizations. Kodiak Community Health Center is proud to also offer enabling services not found in traditional medical practices such as the Sliding Fee Discount Program based on family size and income level for the uninsured and those with a limited income, translators (Spanish and Tagalog on-site), and comprehensive case management services.
