David Brown is currently a Scientific Advisor at Kodiak. Prior to that, they were a Senior Research Scientist at Numerica Corporation from August 2016 to April 2022. Before that, they were an Materials and Processes Engineering Intern at Pratt & Whitney from May 2015 to August 2015 where they used machine learning on multiple materials datasets to create structure-property models using the Python package PyMKS (pymks.org). These models were able to predict effective material properties from an image of the microstructure. David was also an Intern at National Institute of Standards and Technology from May 2014 to August 2014 where they worked with researchers in the Center for Theoretical and Computational Materials Science to develop the Python package PyMKS (pymks.org). Additionally, they were a Research Assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology from August 2012 to August 2016 and Brigham Young University from August 2010 to August 2012. Before that, they were a Quality Manager at 4Life Research from February 2010 to August 2010 and International Operations Manager at 4Life Research from July 2007 to February 2009.
David Brown received their PhD in Computational Science and Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. David also has a Master's in Physics from Brigham Young University and a B.S. in Physics from Westminster College.
