Jan Erik Rau

Jan Erik Rau has extensive work experience in the fields of CMC analytics and microbiology. Jan Erik currently holds the position of Director and Head of CMC Analytics at Kodiak Sciences since January 2021. Prior to this role, they served as Associate Director of CMC Analytics at the same company from May 2020 to December 2020. In this role, they were responsible for building and managing a new analytical development/quality control lab, recruiting staff, implementing analytical methods, troubleshooting, and routine testing.

Before joining Kodiak Sciences, Jan Erik Rau worked at Lonza for several years, holding various managerial and leadership positions in QC microbiology. Jan Erik served as the Senior Manager and Head of QC Microbiology from May 2019 to April 2020. Additionally, they were a member of the QC Leadership Team from May 2018 to April 2020. Prior to these roles, they held the positions of Manager, Senior Scientist, Deputy Head, and Scientist within the QC Microbiology department, where they spearheaded projects and led teams in microbiology analytics and quality control.

Jan Erik Rau completed their undergraduate education at the University of Bremen from 1998 to 2006, obtaining a Diploma degree in Biology. Jan Erik went on to pursue further education at the same institution, completing their doctoral studies in Microbiology and receiving a Dr. rer. nat. degree from 2006 to 2011. Additionally, from 2009 to 2011, they attended the International Max Planck Research School of Marine Microbiology (MarMic) to specialize in the field of Marine Microbiology.
