Maria Sayyed

Maria Sayyed has over 17 years of work experience in the field of economics and business. Maria began their career in 2004 as a Mathematics and Science Teacher at Al Worood Academy. In 2011, they moved to Scholars International Academy, where they held the role of Faculty Head - Mathematics n Business Studies. From 2015 to 2019, Maria was an International Baccalaureate teacher of Economics and Business Management and Head of Business and Economics Department at Raffles World Academy. During this time, they also held roles as a Cambridge Economics Examiner at Cambridge Assessment International Education and an International Baccalaureate Economics Examiner at International Baccalaureate. In 2019, Maria joined Kognity as an IBDP Business Management Book Author, Economics and Business Feedback handler, Economics Assessment Author, IBDP Economics Assessment Reviewer, and Economics Book Author. Currently, Maria is a Country Leader at World Economics Cup and a Business Management/Economics/BTEC Coordinator at Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai.

Maria Sayyed has a varied educational background. Maria obtained a Diploma in Global Teaching Practice from Tellal Institute, an International Prof Graduate Cert of Professional Practice, Applied Graduate Diploma in Teaching from Tellal Institute in 2018-2019, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in International Economics from the University of Mumbai in 1997-1999, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Business/Managerial Economics from the University of Mumbai in 1994-1997. Maria is also currently pursuing an iPGcPP in Secondary Education and Teaching from Liverpool Hope University. Additionally, they have obtained a TES Teaching Pedagogy certification from the Knowledge & Human Development Authority.
