Ghulam Hussain Poya

Ghulam Hussain POYA is an experienced professional in forestry and natural resources management and conservation, currently serving as an Overseas Development Consultant at Kokusai Kogyo Holdings Co., Ltd. since January 2023. Prior to this role, Ghulam held positions as an Assistant Professor at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology and as a Temporary Researcher at the Japan International Forestry Promotion and Cooperation Center, conducting a study on afforestation in Saudi Arabia. Ghulam's expertise includes senior academic roles at Kabul University, providing lectures and research in forest management and policy, as well as consulting work for organizations such as FAO, UNDP, ADB, and GIZ on various environmental projects in Afghanistan. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. and MSc from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Forestry and Natural Resources from Kabul University.
