Iselin Hebbert Haukaas is a seasoned diplomat with extensive experience in international relations and foreign policy. Currently serving as Chief of Staff to the Foreign Minister at Utenriksdepartementet since August 2016, Iselin has held several key roles, including Deputy Director for the Middle East and North Africa section and Acting Director of the Syria team. Prior to this, Iselin worked as Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Norway to the UN, focusing on the Security Council and regional issues. Previous experience includes serving as Embassy Secretary at the Norwegian Embassy in Kabul and various positions within the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where Iselin contributed to the Afghanistan-Pakistan desk and the Foreign Minister's Office. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Bachelor's degree in Government from The London School of Economics.
