Bobby Marinov has over 15 years of experience in the software engineering field. In 2005, they began their career as the CEO of M-Vision Solutions. From 2007 to 2009, they served as a File System Architect/Principal Software Engineer at Attune Systems. Bobby then moved to Western Digital in 2009, where they were a Sr. Principal Staff Engineer. In 2010, they joined STEC, Inc. as a Sr. Principal Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented block level caching utilizing SSD as caching device. In 2012, they joined Gridstore as a Sr. Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented one of the first Storage Based QoS subsystem and an I/O DeBlender. In 2016, they moved to Oracle as a Principal Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented the asynchronous caching module. In 2018, they joined Levyx, Inc. as a Sr. Principal Software Engineer, where they were responsible for the file/directory metadata storage & synchronization. In 2020, they joined Hitachi Vantara as a Sr. Principle Software Engineer, where they were responsible for writing a Globally Distributed Storage Filesystem For Linux. Currently, they are a Sr. Software Engineer at Komprise, where they are writing distributed storage software in C and implementing new features of a cloud based filesystem under Linux FUSE.
Bobby Marinov attended the Technical University of Sofia from 1989 to 1996, where they obtained a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) degree in Radio & Television (Digital TV).
