Dr.-Ing. Thomas Bönker

Dr.-Ing. Thomas Bönker has extensive work experience in the field of cranes and components. Dr.-Ing. Thomas is currently a Director of Technology at Konecranes, a position they have held since 2017. Prior to that, they were a Senior Vice President at Konecranes from 2017 to 2022, and then again from 2023 to the present. Before joining Konecranes, Dr. Bönker worked as a Senior Director at Demag Cranes & Components from 2016 to 2017. Dr.-Ing. Thomas also held various roles at Demag Cranes & Components from 1999 to 2015, including Head of Business Line Components from 2012 to 2015 and Head of Global Product Management from 2007 to 2012. Dr. Bönker began their career as a Projektmanager at Innosys - Gesellschaft für innovative Arbeitssysteme from 1993 to 1994 and as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at Technische Universität Dortmund, Lehrstuhl für Maschinenelemente, -gestaltung und Handhabungstechnik from 1994 to 1999. Overall, their extensive work experience demonstrates their expertise and leadership in the crane industry.

Dr.-Ing. Thomas Bönker completed their education at TU Dortmund University. Dr.-Ing. Thomas received a Diplom-Ingenieur (Dipl.-Ing.) degree in Maschinenbau (Produktentwicklung, Materialhandling und Industrieroboter) from 1988 to 1993. Dr.-Ing. Thomas then pursued further studies and obtained a Doktor-Ingenieur (Dr.-Ing.) degree in Maschinenbau from 1994 to 1999.
