Stella Kortekaas

Stella Kortekaas is a Senior Soil Engineer at Boskalis, a position held since December 2021. Previously, Stella served as a Geologist at Visser & Smit Hanab from July 2017 to December 2021 and worked as a Principal Geologist at Advanced Geomechanics Pty Ltd between November 2012 and June 2017. Additional experience includes roles as a Senior Engineering Geologist at WorleyParsons and Senior Geologist at Fugro Engineers BV. Academic achievements include a post-doctoral research position at Université du Littoral-Côte d'Opale focused on marine sand and gravel resources, and a Marie Curie Fellowship at the National Observatory of Athens specializing in historical tsunami identification. Stella obtained a PhD from Coventry University, examining coastal flooding events related to tsunamis, storms, and earthquakes, following a Master’s degree in Geology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
