Sören Knittel

Sören Knittel is a seasoned mechanical engineer currently working at Koninklijke Gazelle N.V. since September 2023. As the Co-Founder and Director of R&D at floating future since September 2016, Sören Knittel focuses on conceptualizing and designing ultraflexible, scalable floating greenhouses for food production in urban areas. Previous experience includes serving as an industrial designer at nexus product design | Studio Netherlands from April 2011 to September 2020, where Sören Knittel developed advanced products across various industries. Sören Knittel also worked at Jachtwerf Atlantic B.V. to create a modular yacht concept and completed an internship at Springtime. Early career experience includes mechanical design at Remmert GmbH. Sören Knittel holds a degree from Saxion University of Applied Sciences, earned between 2006 and 2010.
