Arie-Jan Baan has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Arie-Jan began their career at FrieslandCampina as an intern in marketing. Arie-Jan then took on the role of Vice Chairman at Happietaria Rotterdam, where they successfully managed the temporary restaurant and used its revenue to support education in Liberia. Arie-Jan also worked as a self-employed individual before joining Shroffs Foundation Trust as a Project Evaluator, analyzing and evaluating the impact of a large subsidy project. Arie-Jan later joined Berenschot as a Consultant, specializing in change management, digitization, and business analytics. Arie-Jan progressed to become a Senior Consultant in Business Analytics and Data Science. Currently, they are employed at Vopak, where they have held various roles, including Data Scientist, Senior Data Scientist, and Global Analytics Manager | Team Lead Data Science. In addition, Arie-Jan founded their own company, TorenTuin, where they serve as the Founder.

Arie-Jan Baan has a diverse educational background. Arie-Jan started by completing their VWO at Wartburg college in 2008. Arie-Jan then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics with philosophy courses at Erasmus University Rotterdam, which was completed in 2011. In 2012, Arie-Jan Baan went on to pursue a Master's degree in Economics at Erasmus School of Economics, which they successfully completed Cum Laude in 2013.

A few years later, in 2016, Arie-Jan Baan further enhanced their education by studying Data Analytics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Arie-Jan then acquired additional certification in DataRobot Essentials from DataRobot Essentials in 2020.

Later, in 2023, Arie-Jan Baan attended de Baak, where they pursued a program called YEP.
