Wessam Farid has worked in various roles in the technology industry since 1997. Wessam began their career as a Software Engineer at IBM Canada Ltd., where they designed, developed and maintained a client/server Java application. In 1999, they moved to Sprint Nextel as a System/Network Engineer, where they designed, developed and tested a real time automation testing system for Vector And Passport switches as part of the Integrated Service Assurance software. Wessam then worked as a Software Developer at Thazar Solutions, Inc. in 2001. In 2002, they joined Zix Corporation as a Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented the entire Network infrastructure for the Ottawa office. In 2003, they moved to United States Courts as a Sr. System Engineer Lead, where they worked with major national systems and systems developed/customized for local use including Electronic Case Filling System. In 2005, they joined Hallmark Cards as a Sr. Software Engineer, where they implemented and tested a Manufacturing Execution System. In 2007, they returned to AT&T as a Sr. Software Engineer, where they developed, tested and maintained all DRAW (Division Results Application Web) Quality projects. In 2009, they joined Rockwell Automation as a Sr. System Engineer. Finally, in 2011, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Konviere Corporation, where they were responsible for establishing the strategic, operating and financial direction for the company, as well as the strategic alliances and business development at the corporate level.
Wessam Farid's education history includes a Bachelor degree in Computer Science with Co-op Program from Dalhousie University, which they obtained from 1994 to 1999. Wessam also attended Queen Elizabeth High School from 1992 to 1994, where they studied Science. Additionally, Wessam Farid has two certifications from IBM, a Certified Database Associate - Informix obtained in August 2003, and a Certified System Administrator - Informix obtained in August 2003.
