Engineering Team Lead at Koolboks

Lukmon Alani has a diverse work experience in the field of solar energy and engineering.

Lukmon started their career at Unilag physics workshop in 2017, where they worked as a mechanical construction worker for a period of six months.

In 2019, Lukmon joined DWISE Electric as a graduate trainee, specializing in solar PV module and inverter installation. Lukmon worked in this role for two years until 2021.

From 2021 to present, Lukmon has been associated with Koolboks. Lukmon started as a Solar/Maintenance Engineer and was responsible for the installation and maintenance of DC multi-temperature freezers. Lukmon also performed site surveys and energy audits for potential customers interested in solar inverter systems.

Currently, Lukmon serves as the Engineering Team Lead at Koolboks. In this role, they lead a team of engineers and technicians in designing, implementing, and maintaining solar refrigeration and energy projects in sub-Saharan African countries. Lukmon engages customers in after-sales service and management, collaborates on maintenance tasks, and participates in research and product development initiatives. Lukmon'swork also involves exploring new ways to combine solar energy and refrigeration while calculating GHG emissions and the carbon footprint of solar products.

Lukmon Alani attended the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta from 2014 to 2018, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure and Applied Physics. In addition to their formal education, Lukmon also obtained several certifications. In October 2021, they completed a certification program in Climate Change and Energy Transitions through the Global Knowledge Exchange & Development Center. Lukmon also obtained a Diploma in Electrical Studies from Alison - Free Online Learning in the same month and year. Lukmon further enhanced their knowledge and skills by completing a certification program in Fundamental Maths for Solar Application through Solar Energy International (SEI) and a certification program in Fundamentals of IoT through Udemy. Lukmon also obtained a certification in Fundamentals of Project Monitoring and Evaluation from the Global Knowledge Exchange & Development Center. Additionally, they completed a certification program in Jobberman Soft Skills through Jobberman Youth Engagement & Learning and a certification program in Planning and Designing Mini-grid Energy Systems, also through the Global Knowledge Exchange & Development Center.
