Koray Tansu ILHAN is a seasoned professional in the field of polymer science and technology, currently serving as a Senior R&D Project Leader at Kordsa since December 2018, with previous roles including R&D Project Leader and R&D Project Engineer within the KordSA Composite Technologies Center of Excellence. Prior to Kordsa, experience included positions as a Clinical Research Associate at Neutec Grup and Project Researcher at TUBITAK, focusing on organic materials research. Early career experience encompasses an internship at the Council of Forensic Medicine and a student assistant role at Istanbul University's Organic Chemistry Research Laboratory. Koray Tansu ILHAN holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Polymer Science and Technology from Istanbul Technical University, along with a Master of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Umeå University and Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, respectively.

The center became active in 2016 in cooperation with Sabancı University. In this center, lecturers of Sabancı University, PhD students and Kordsa employees will be working under the same roof. In this cooperative model, which will be a pioneer in Turkey, Kordsa implements and conducts the “open innovation” concept. Currently, over 5000 global employees of Kordsa work to deliver reinforcement technologies to the world.
