Jae-ik Park is a distinguished physicist and astronomer currently serving as a Visiting Scholar at West Virginia University since August 2023. With extensive experience at the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) since February 2010, Jae-ik Park has held the positions of Principal Researcher and Senior Researcher. Jae-ik Park earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Physics & Astronomy from Yonsei University, completing the program in 2010.

The Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), since its establishment in 1989, has been the driving force behind aerospace research and development in Korea as the leading national R&D institute in this field. KARI’s R&D areas include state-of-the-art aircraft development, satellite development and space launch vehicle development. KARI is also responsible for the quality certification of aircraft and space equipment, mandated by the government.
