Soeun Kim

Soeun Kim is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) since March 2024, previously holding a similar position at the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) from June 2020 to February 2024, where responsibilities included the design and synthesis of isocyanate blocking agents and development of automotive polyurethane-based materials. Academic experience includes a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from September 2012 to February 2019, focusing on smart polymer materials for protective applications against chemical warfare agents and conducting extensive polymer synthesis research. Soeun Kim also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, providing educational support in polymer synthesis, and began research career as a Graduate Research Assistant at Chonbuk National University, where novel liquid crystal materials were developed. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a Master’s Degree from Jeonbuk National University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Polymer Science and Engineering.
