Akshaya Anand

Akshaya Anand is a Co-Founder and CTO at Korion Health, leading the development of an electronic stethoscope and interactive guided user interface aimed at improving the accessibility of heart and lung screenings since March 2022. Previously, Akshaya served as an Independent Contractor at 5Metis Inc., where a data visualization tool was designed that enhanced decision-making productivity by 33%. As a Postbaccalaureate Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, Akshaya trained deep learning models for medical image classification, authored an accepted academic paper for the SPIE Medical Imaging 2023 conference, and developed genomic analysis pipelines. Early professional experience includes roles as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Maryland and various internships focusing on bioinformatics and product development. Akshaya holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Microbiology from the University of Maryland.
